Osprey Aether 70

I purchased this pack after using the Osprey Levity 60 pack and being impressed with the comfort. I wanted a pack that would handle heavier loads for winter trips and still be comfortable.

I am quite impressed with this pack, it carries well and is easily adjustable as the load lessens over a long trip.

This is not a lightweight pack by any means coming in at 2.353 for the large back length and made with 210D fabric with 500D on the bottom. It is also a fully featured pack so it has all the bells and whistles that you would expect
– Hip Belt pockets on both sides
– Sternum strap with whistle
– Stow on the Go hiking pole stashing system
– Side compression straps
– Rain cover in lid
– Large lid storage pocket
– Stretch front pocket
– Ice axe loops
– Draw top closure
– Zippered lower compartment

This pack uses Osprey’s Anti-Gravity harness system which transfers the load well and I find it extremely comfortable even after a long day.
I use a full length pack liner to ensure the contents of my pack stay dry the zippered J access panel is virtually useless in the way I utilise the pack.
The front stretch panel is where I keep my rain jacket and pants for quick access or the fly of my tent if its been wet overnight. If i stop for a break I can get the fly out and dry it in the sun of breeze.

I have found this pack to be reliable, hard wearing and comfortable, although slightly heavy. If you are looking for a full featured pack that is capable of carrying larger loads then I would be happy to recommend this pack.
